LeapFrog SchoolHouse, the school division of LeapFrog Enterprises,
Inc. (NYSE: LF), today introduces the school version of the Quantum
Pad learning system, which features the same award-winning interactive
technology as the LeapPad® platform in a sophisticated design
that appeals to students in grades three and higher. The Quantum
Pad platform supports the library of interactive books offered by
LeapFrog SchoolHouse for upper elementary students.
“Like the popular LeapPad platform, the Quantum Pad learning
system is an interactive, multisensory learning tool that engages
older students in continuing reading, language arts, and math practice,”
said Bob Lally, LeapFrog SchoolHouse president. “The Quantum
Pad allows books to ‘talk,’ modeling the guided practice
a teacher would provide. The Quantum Pad is the perfect platform
to support our programs for older elementary students, including
the upper grades of the LeapTrack System, our K-5 Assessment and
Instruction offering,” Lally added.
Other offerings from LeapFrog SchoolHouse that address the needs
of upper elementary students and utilize the functionality of the
Quantum Pad platform include a Leveled Reading series, a High Interest/Low
Level series entitled Read-It-All books, and a cross-curricular
collection of older interactive books.
Classroom Version of Quantum Pad platform
There are two versions of the Quantum Pad platform from LeapFrog:
a consumer version and a school version. The school version of the
Quantum Pad platform has several features that increase its effectiveness
in the classroom setting.
The school version is shipped with headphones, so students can
immerse themselves in the interactive, multisensory experience,
as well as work independently without disturbing one another. In
addition, the school version comes packed with one set of batteries
and includes AC adapters so that teachers won’t spend their
budgets replacing batteries. The Quantum Pad school version is also
protected by a longer one-year warranty.
Product Availability and Pricing
Both the Quantum Pad and LeapPad platforms are available in a variety
of purchase configurations to allow educators maximum ordering and
price flexibility. Single platforms are priced at $59 while six-platform
sets are only $330. For each PreK-5 grade level, there is a Getting
Started Kit available for $99 that includes an interactive learning
system along with three age-appropriate interactive books.
