In response to the growing need for affordable education technology for children, LeapFrog SchoolHouse has established a new Personal Learning Tool (PLT) category of education technology. A PLT is a special-purpose device that delivers on the promise of one-to-one technology for $100 or less. As portable devices that merge curriculum and technology, PLTs enable extended learning from the classroom to the living room.
Over the last three years, LeapFrog SchoolHouse has been a leader in this new movement in education technology by providing over 30,000 classrooms with PLT devices that facilitate individualized instruction at an affordable cost. PLTs from LeapFrog SchoolHouse include the durable, portable LeapPad® and Quantum Pad® classroom learning systems that deliver technology-empowered curriculum, while providing a unique multisensory learning experience for students. The tools work in conjunction with the LeapTrack™ system for uploading data to school networks, allowing teachers the ability to conduct real-time formative assessments of each student's progress and prescribe individualized learning paths. For educators, the result is an innovative and comprehensive solution for integrating technology into PreK–5 classrooms.
